1- Living for other people isn’t living at all.
If your main priority in life is to please others, and to make other people happy, then you’re taking away a big part of your happiness and missing out on what could be a wonderful life. I used to try to please others instead of myself, and constantly learned the hard way that it only worked out negatively.
2- Not everyone deserves a second chance.
This one may sound negative, but it really isn’t at all. If someone has hurt you again and again, then they don’t regard your feelings. They don’t deserve a second chance. Not everyone does, and that’s okay. It’s all about figuring out who does.
3- Mental health comes before schoolwork, and actually, it comes before everything.
It’s worth failing a test if it means that you won’t have an anxiety attack or feel a ton of weight on your shoulders. Sometimes, you need to take the day off if the night before you were hunched over your laptop trying so hard to finish a paper. Your mental health and how you treat yourself come before everything else.
4- If you look at the clock and it’s 1 am and you STILL don’t understand your homework, just go to bed.
There’s just not that much you can teach yourself after hours. Either you get it or you don’t.
5- Don’t wish for days to go away
No matter how tough things get, or how much you wish time would go faster, don’t wish it away. Years from now you’re going to regret all the time you spent wanting to be at a better point in your life, but really you were there the whole time, and now that time is gone.
6- Always be nice to everyone
The cliche saying that you don’t know what someone is going through behind closed doors is so true. Being nice to everyone is so important. No life is perfect, and no life is easy all the time.
7- Don’t procrastinate
Even though literally no one is going to take this advice, and neither will I, it’s a nice goal to work up to
8- Treat everything like it’s your last time
With everything you do, act like it’s your last time ever. Whether that’s seeing someone you love, doing your favorite activity, or just going through a day. Treat it like it’s your last so that you’ll have no regrets when it actually is.
9- Drink coffee every single morning
It helps more than you think
10- Read books as much as you can
It’ll help with your vocabulary, and you’ll probably also end up really liking it too
11- Music can fix almost anything
Or at least make it better, and so can your family and friends.
12- Time fixes everything
If you’re mad at someone, give yourself space for a few hours and then clear your head. If you’re going through something hard, give yourself time to heal. If you got 2 hours of sleep the night before, give yourself time to take a nap. Time fixes everything.
