Sunlight Awaits

The sunlight crept through my window early on Tuesday morning, it was early July and I could hear birds outside already. In the winter, I would've dreaded getting out of bed, but today I couldn't wait. Today I was down the beach, and that made everything better. I stretched, and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I admired my new tan lines from the day before, before heading downstairs. As I made coffee, just like I did every morning, I rearranged the fridge magnets, which my family kept a wide collection of, and cut up some fruit. My grandmother, who looked almost venerable with the way she walked up the stairs, so gracefully and poised, told me good morning and then took her usual seat out on the deck. That morning was peaceful and lazy. The sun rose proudly and quickly, and as it beamed, made the kitchen warm up. As I looked out the window and admired the outside, everything looked almost artistic. The children were dragging their tiny beach chairs, as their parents lugged a wagon full of toys behind them. Birds sang songs and carried conversations throughout the sky. The sky was a vibrant blue, nothing like I had ever seen before. I cracked open the window so that I could hear the ocean. I was ecstatic to go to the beach, and I couldn't help but wonder what awaits.
